Change is in the Air in Riverside – Summer 2018

Change is always in the air in Riverside and this summer is no exception! Here’s some news seen and heard around the ‘hood:

  • Riverside Square – with the demolition of the old garage at 645 Queen E complete, vehicles are being relocated to that space to allow for preparatory work to begin on the public square portion of the site, while residential and commercial building is ongoing in the south and west portions.
  • 101-100 Broadview – steps south of Queen, there’s a new restaurant and entertainment spot called Lob Toronto that’s just opened their doors. They’ve got Toronto’s first ever indoor 9-track bocce course!
  • 714 Queen St E: Pizza Nova at Queen/Broadview will be opening its doors on August 20th, 11AM-8PM with a special $2 small pizza deal and ALL PROCEEDS from every pizza sold going to St. John the Compassionate Mission!! What a great way to say hello!
  • 725 Queen St E:  Jasper Dandy, a new pub and entertainment venue opened in July. They are open daily from 12pm-2am, with flexible spaces including sports bar/pub, party area and stage for live music. Check out their amazing space which has a fresh look and feel from the top to the bottom and inside and out!
  • 733 Queen St E: Silhouette Tailoring has moved to their new home (just north at 253 Broadview) and Dresden Optics is coming in soon
  • 734 Queen St E: Comfy Beauty Nail Salon opened in August with hours Mon-Sat 10-8 and Sunday 12-6, check them out, get 10% off services, and say hello.
  • 777 Queen St E: After many years, Ron Elbers of Elbers Antiques & Refinishing is starting to take much deserved rest by scaling back his business to the back of his space at 777 Queen St E – you can still reach him by appointmentTiny Record Shop & Token are moving from across the street into the front space at 777 Queen E, they’ll be closed in September but plan to be back with a fresh space in October!
