From April 4th to 9th, experience an Ontario Wine Tour in your own backyard when award-winning wineries and growers from Prince Edward County (PEC) and Niagara Wine Region (NWR) come to Toronto for Riverside’s 3rd Annual Winefest.
Sponsored by the Riverside Business Improvement Area (BIA), Sugar Loaf Bakery & Cafe (catering sponsor), Toronto Food Tours, the Ralph Thornton Center, and Team Sheppard RE/MAX, Riverside Winefest will showcase 10+ wineries, and dozens of wines throughout the week in events at Riverside venues – along Queen St East from the DVP to Empire Avenue.
The Festival’s signature event is the FREE Community Riverside Wine Expo hosted at The Ralph Thornton Centre (765 Queen St E, 2nd Fl) on April 8th from 2-5pm:
*FREE Wine tastings with wine-makers and reps from: Three Dog Winery, Vineland Estates, 13th Street Winery, Broken Stone Winery, Devil’s Wishbone, Grange of Prince Edward, Trail Estate Winery, Angels Gate, Casa Dea and Waupoos Winery. (2-5pm)
*Cooking demos by local chefs from The Peasant Table, Eastbound Brewing Co, Toronto Food Tours and more! (2-5pm)
*Wine and Cheese 101 tasting talk by Sommelier and Wine Educator Melissa Pulvermacher (3-3:30pm)
*Fine art exhibition by local artist Lynn Leonard (2-5pm)
*Live music by local artist Samantha Kate Sheppard (2-5pm)
*Canadian and international food platters by Riverside’s own Sugar Loaf Bakery & Cafe (2-5pm)
*Whiskey Tasting with Kinsip House of Fine Spirits and Specials from Wine Virgin Club (2-5pm)
*Silent Auction with gifts from Quince Flowers, WAXON, Oma Chiropractic, Toronto Food Tours, Kinsip, The Peasant Table and more in support of The Ralph Thornton Community Centre (2-5pm)
This event is free and general donations are welcomed toward supporting community programs and activities associated with The Ralph Thornton Community Centre.
