 Closson Chase

Founded in 1998, Closson Chase is based out of Prince Edward Island and has helped spearhead the PEI wine industry. Closson Chase applies century old traditions to their Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Gris grapes while applying innovative techniques. Closson Chase has always been passionate about advocating and applying sustainable practices with their work. Closson Chase has a winery site located in Hillier, Ontario and in 2015 Closson Chase introduced two new wines to their collection.

The Grange

The Grange is a family-run 600-acre farm in Prince Edward County. The Granger family who runs it is drenched in the history of Canadian pioneers: their estate has been a working farm for two hundred years. After daughter Maggie returned to her parent’s farm in 2001 the old farm would never be the same, rather it would be transformed into a beautiful vineyard. 16 years later, the Grange offers many excellent varieties including chardonnay, pinot gris, riesling, sauvignon blanc, gamay, pinot noir, and cabernet franc.

Craft beers that Eastbound will feature during Riverside Wine & Craft Beer Fest 2019 include:

  • Grange of Prince Edward Almanac White VQA | 12.4% ABV | $16.95
  • Grange of Prince Edward Almanac Red VQA | 13.5% ABV| $18.95

Three Dogs

John and Sacha Square began planting vines for Three Dogs back in 2000, managing a full-time job and only working on the vineyard on the weekend, they decided to make a big leap and head to the countryside in 2003. Although John and Sacha had their challenges and drawbacks, they made the decision to jump into the winery business with two feet and haven’t looked back. John and Sacha see Three Dogs as a community gathering spots and to create a space where artists and farmers, craftsman, can come and set up their wares and offer our space for free to share the “Bounty of the County”.

Broken Stone

Broken Stone is a family made winery that began with three hayfields in Prince Edward County back in 2009. Tim and Micheline Kuepfer decided to build a small building in 2012 and gain the necessary licences to create the wine and from there Broken Stone Winery was born.

Trail Estate

The Sproll family embarked on their wine journey in 2011 when they fell in love with Trail’s 14-acre property. No stranger to hard work, the family had just retired from running a successful bakery for 30 years when they decided to start their own winery. Dedicated to producing truly compelling terroir-driven wines of uncompromising quality and rich character, the Sproll family promises that no two wines are ever the same. Each wine tells the story of the site and vintage with unabashed honesty and freshness.
