Environmental Defence

Come to check out Environmental Defence’s Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) display outside of 625 Queen St E from 1-6pm!

YRE  is a national, youth eco-journalism competition run across Canada. Youth aged 11-18 report on a local, environmental issue, in the form of photos, videos, and articles, on the theme of waste, litter, and waste management solutions.

In fact it’s actually an international competition, run by FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), with hundreds of participants and dozens of countries participating. The competition wrapped up in April, and Environmental Defence is displaying the winning pieces for Canada at Riverside Eats & Beats!
