“Whatever record you’re looking for, we have it or will find it,” says Riverdale Trading Company manager, Sean.
And he’s not kidding. With over 18,000 rare and original records in stock, and systems in place track down everything else, this record shop carries every genre of music from you can think of from hip-hop to heavy metal and every genre in between.
With an eye on the potential for Riverside, Riverdale Trading Company opened on Queen Street in 2016. While business was steady, Shawn says sales increased dramatically after The Broadview Hotel opened a year later.
“Since the hotel opened it has been a very diverse group of people,” he says. “Riverside is a fantastic neighbourhood.
In addition to all the vinyl, customers will find a whimsical array of decorative pieces for their home including teak furniture, Buddha statues, and one-of-a-kind wall art. The shop also carries incense and 420 accessories. So next time you’re in the hood, stop in for a visit, flip through some albums, and get your groove on!
