Oneida drummer Kid Millions teams up his minimalist psych percussion project Man Forever with famed contemporary percussion quartet, So Percussion. Hot off the release of their collaborative album Ryonen (Thrill Jockey), they will be preforming these entrancing pieces in a rare concert appearance. Driving rhythms barrel under drifting vocal drones, moving like a storm front as the music slowly mutates, adding & subtracting simple elements as it navigates it’s path. Artscape Wychwood Barns based boundary pushing chamber ensemble performs Jules Léger Prize winning composer, Nicole Lizee’s haunting piece Hitchcock Etudes. Montreal based composer Lizee will be in attendance for this special performance. A twisted thrill ride of warped Hitchcock, scores & sound bites are chopped up & re-assembled by a contemporary string ensemble, turning already ominous creations into languid glitched out nightmares. Accompanied by visual from Hitchcock’s films spliced & mangled to match their aural counterparts, Hitchcock Etudes is a serious psych horror trip for the modern avant gardist.

Renowned sound artist, avant thinker, Electric Eclectics co-programmer & Governor General Award winner Gordon Monahan performs a set with his classic sauerkraut synthesizer. Using fruits, vegetables & sauerkraut as voltage controllers for a home programmed synthesizer Gordon creates whistling, glitchy electronic tones & drones. Spectral patterns glisten & gurgle under sweeping frequencies. Manipulating the secret tonality of organics. A rare Toronto performance by a Canadian experimental luminary.
