The Riverside BIA has exciting plans for a new mural this summer! The mural will be located at 105 Broadview Ave. on the Pizza Nova wall. It is a highly visible wall and a great opportunity for an artist to share their work. The wall can be seen from the Broadview Hotel and Queen St. East by foot, car, streetcar, and more!
The theme for this mural is community engagement and vibrancy to represent and reflect upon the neighbourhood throughout the years. We are looking for a design that is vibrant, colourful, abstract in nature and/or based on large colour blocks.
The wall is made of bricks and the portion of the wall to be covered with the mural is 32 ft. wide and 14 ft high. The budget to complete this is $4500 which includes the artist fee, and any materials needed.
The deadline for submissions is June 17th, 2019 and the timeline is:
- Selection of Artist: June 21st
- 1st Rendering: July 3rd
- Final Rendering: July 19th
- Window for Completion: August 5th – September 6th
We are currently looking for an artist to complete this project; the artists should be familiar with the area and objectives of the BIA. If you know of any artists that you think would be a good fit, please spread the word!
