Sounds of Leslieville & Riverside BLOCK PARTY- Your Live Music Guide

The Beaches Int’l Jazz Festival is back in Toronto’s Riverside neighbourhood with The Sounds of Leslieville & Riverside on July 6-8th, this year with an amazing new BLOCK PARTY!!! Check out our quick guide to the fab musical line ups throughout the weekend:

The Beaches International Jazz Fest is bringing back ‘The Sounds of Leslieville & Riverside’! The event will take place on the first weekend of July: July 6th (6-10pm), 7th (12-10pm), and 8th (12-6pm).

The admission to the event is free and a mixture of music and vendors will be present for everyone. Spend your weekend with the relaxing sounds of Riverside and Leslieville, and come dine in the neighbourhoods’ fabulous local cafes and restaurants!

If you’re thinking about heading out to the festivities, here’s a heads up on the exciting line up.

The party starts on Friday July 6th at 6pm until 10pm with musicians jamming out on Saulter, Boulton and Degrassi. Saulter will feel like you’re in Cuba with Sol de Cuba, Pablo Terry’s warm, winning smile, dynamic stage presence and musical dexterity leave audiences happy, excited and wanting more. Accompanied by his fellow band members, Rufino Macerio on trumpet, Pancho Galvan on guitar, Jilian Cordero on bass and Ersidio Tamayo on piano, they plays for both their love of the music and their love of the audiences they play for.

Stacey Renee will kick things off at Boulton, a Toronto Singer, Songwriter, Performer & Indie Rock Artist Stacey Renee has entertained crowds across North America. Stacey’s electric performances, unmistakable talent, and unique edgy, yet soulful vocal styles are impossible to ignore. With drive, passion, and heart, Stacey Renee is ready to show the world what Canadian girls are made of!

Jenny Thai Band will be playing on Degrassi. Born in Chiang Mai Thailand, and raised outside of Edmonton, Jenie Thai is building a musical presence throughout the country through the electric energy she displays on stage and the old soul that’s conveyed through her songwriting.

On Saturday July 7th the block party is all day afternoon from 12pm-4pm with musicians playing the afternoon away on Saulter, Boulton and Degrassi. Quincy Bullen an accomplished pianist, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist (drums, bass, guitar, Piano) and singer will start things off in the afternoon on Saulter. His repertoire includes his own version of popular standards from jazz, R&B, Pop and soul as well as his original compositions.

Old Man Flanagan’s Ghost will be playing on Boulton, having impressed audiences in pubs and private events all around the G.T.A. with their unique brand of original Celtic inspired music and rendition of Irish, east coast and folk tunes.

On Degrassi Untitled Soul will bring you a smokin’ rythm section accompanied with 70’s funk and soul music with a modern twist.

On Saturday evening from 5pm-9pm the block party in Riverside will feature the same exciting lineup as Friday evening. Make sure to dance to your new favourite musicians or visit another street for a new musical adventure.

On Sunday, July 8th, musical performances will be taking place from 1pm-5pm on Saulter, Boulton and Degrassi. With performers from the previous day – Old Man Flanagan’s Ghost and Untitled Soul, as well as some new sounds from Tim Bovaconti and the Enablers. As a talented multi-instrumentalist, performing, touring and recording with the likes of Ron Sexsmith, Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman and many more.
