Switchback Cyclery’s 2018 Harvest Ride

Harvest Ride 2018

On September 15th local Riverside business Switchback Cyclery hosted a fundraiser ‘harvest’ ride in support of the non-profit cycling store’s continued operation. The day was a resounding success filled with fantastic weather and no shortage of fun!

Riders had the option of cycling between 15km, 25km, or 70km through the idyllic Northumberland County, followed by a pizza lunch and kid-friendly activities at Headwaters Farm to keep everyone busy!

The 2018 harvest ride resulted in Switchback raising in excess of $20,000 – all of which goes back into the store, community, and allows Switchback to keep operating as a not-for-profit enterprise.

About Switchback Cyclery

Switchback Cyclery is a local Riverside cycling store that offers repairs, retail, and accessories, and whose maxim is “propelling community”. Switchback is a non-profit Employment Social Enterprise (ESE), meaning they welcome and employ individuals who have experience with abuse, rejection, and barriers to entry in the mainstream employment market. Through support from Sanctuary Toronto, a charitable Christian organization, Switchback has the opportunity to be community-focused and change-driven.

With fundraisers such as the Harvest Ride, Switchback is able to raise the funds to operate the store as a non-profit ESE and continue to be a proud community support system.

Switchback is still accepting donations towards the Harvest Ride, which can be made by clicking this link.
